Headshots In-Studio and On-Location in San Antonio, TX

Maddie Fest

Maddie Fest, a talented Irish dancer transitioning into modeling, partnered with us to build an agency-ready portfolio. We photographed a mix of in-studio and on-location headshots in San Antonio, focusing on movement, expression, and versatile looks for commercial and light editorial use. The final gallery delivered polished options for submission.

Maddie Fest is an Irish dancer who recently began modeling. The goal for this session was a clean, commercial-friendly portfolio with a natural no-makeup look that agencies can evaluate without guesswork. We kept styling simple and put expression, bone structure, and eye contact at the center.

We started in a downtown San Antonio rental studio to control light and background. Neutral sets and classic compositions delivered timeless headshots in both color and black and white. The focus was subtle variation: relaxed smile, confident neutral, and slight angle changes that show how Maddie reads under studio light.

Professional hair and makeup by Two Sapphires’ own Marci Madla followed a clean beauty brief. Skin finish stayed natural, eyes defined but not heavy, and lip tone kept close to natural so the images feel current and bookable. The approach carried across looks with only small adjustments between studio and location.

For location work we moved to the San Antonio Botanical Garden during golden hour. The site offers textured backdrops, open shade, and reliable reflected light, which helps maintain even skin tones without overprocessing. Window-lit frames and soft backgrounds added variety while keeping the set cohesive with the studio work.

Wardrobe stayed youthful and approachable. A coral dress introduced a fresh editorial note and plays well with greenery and concrete textures at the garden. Casual pieces like a blue top and a white shirt with denim covered the commercial range agencies expect. The mix gives Maddie clear options for submissions without looking over-styled.

Posing remained simple and honest. We emphasized relaxed posture, micro-turns of the chin, and slight weight shifts for line. Expressions aimed for friendly and neutral with small variations in energy. The result is a set that feels versatile: suitable for commercial, lifestyle, and light editorial opportunities.

The shooting plan was efficient: studio first for precision, then location as the light softened. Minimal gear on location let us work quickly and keep attention on Maddie rather than equipment. Clear skies a couple of hours before sunset gave us consistent, clean natural light.

Post-production was light touch. Color was balanced for accurate skin, contrast kept natural, and retouching focused on polish rather than alteration. Final delivery included color and black-and-white masters, plus web and print crops so the set is ready for agency submission.
