Romantic Glasserie Wedding

Wedding at The Glasserie in Brooklyn, NY

Keri & Justin

Keri and Justin's enchanting Glasserie wedding in Brooklyn, NY, was a perfect blend of industrial chic and intimate elegance, with exposed brick, soft candlelight, and lush greenery creating a romantic, modern atmosphere. Capturing their special day in this iconic Brooklyn venue highlights the beauty of urban weddings, making an unforgettable celebration for the couple and their guests.

This romantic Glasserie wedding in Brooklyn was truly a dream for this pair of Texas wedding photographers. The details were thoughtful but understated, the church and reception venue both just screamed New York wedding. Each of the wedding locations are dripping with history, where raw bricks meet steel beams and grates, kissed by candlelight and soft floral touches. The reception is set up as two long tables and dinner server family-style, because the beautiful thing about an intimate wedding is that everyone present truly is family.

Despite being a San Antonio wedding photographer, born-and-raised here… I’ve visited NY a lot, like at least 20 times. My favorite time to visit is Fall, when Central Park is filled with color and the cool-weather clothes start to come out of New Yorkers’ closets. Gorgeous coats, scarves, hats, gloves, boots… That’s something we don’t get to do much in San Antonio, so it’s a refreshing change of scenery. Suffice to say, when Keri and Justin came knocking, telling me about their plans for a Brooklyn wedding, I was all in. Destination wedding photographer, at your service, reporting for duty!

Something I consider to be very important as a destination wedding photographer is arriving a couple of days early and scouting locations. There simply isn’t enough time on a wedding day to roam around aimlessly hoping to come across the ideal scene. So we created an efficient route peppered with great locations to keep things running smoothly, and I have to say that we found the perfect location for an iconic first look on a porch stoop in Brooklyn Heights.

Keri & Justin’s wedding was on a beautiful, sunny Fall day in New York City. It’s truly one of our favorite places to be this time of year. After getting ready with her bridesmaids in a nearby beauty salon, our lovely bride was super excited for their picturesque first look in Brooklyn Heights. From there, we took a stroll along the Brooklyn Heights Promenade tor a few portraits and then hopped on the wedding party bus for wedding photos at some other great spots for urban wedding portraits in Brooklyn and then bridal party photos in Manhattan.

I’m obsessed with the porch stoop first look photos… The wind-swept dress, the loving embrace, they were both overcome with joy and it was really everything magical that a first look should be.  After sharing that special moment together, we took some couple’s wedding portraits quickly at the Brooklyn-Heights Promenade and hopped on a chartered bus to get some urban wedding photos at a few other cool locations we pre-scouted. After we finished all the wedding portraits, we continued on to Harlem’s St. Charles Borromeo. There, the couple celebrated with close friends and family, saying their I Do’s with a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony. After a quick trip via shuttle, it was time for the Glasserie wedding reception in Brooklyn we’d been looking forward to all year!

Our couple’s Glasserie wedding was everything they dreamed of, with guest enjoying an intimate evening surrounded by good music, exposed brick walls, brick floor, and family-style dinner by candlelight accented by soft pastel floral. It was an incredibly fun and light-hearted group, and the beautiful locations were the cherry on top. This was our first Glasserie wedding, but hopefully not our last!
